A project kept secret
This project for the College of Engineering was a first for us on 2 fronts. It was kept secret, to be presented at the retirement dinner of the Dean, Leah H. Jamieson, who had been tenured for more than 30 years. And the design carried the text of her final remarks, given at a Homecoming Dean's dinner, along with her own signature.
Her words on the scarf, her signature on the tie
The long text on the rectangular scarf sits over a pattern of the College of Engineering logo, in subtle tones of black and gold. Her signature is printed on the scarf and in the tipping of the tie. For the woven tie, the logo was greatly reduced in size and set in a tight repeat, which gives it a classic look.
