A silk scarf and tie for the Alumni Association board

The University seal, enlarged and carefully placed on a long rectangular scarf, is striking in the school colors of purple and white. The words 'Northwestern Alumni Association Board of Directors' run inside the outer border. Because the seal is so intricate, the matching tie was woven with great attention to detail.

A woven silk tie built on the 'N'

This luxurious 36oz woven silk tie has a multi-directional pattern made from the University 'N'. While working on the repeat we followed strict branding protocol, so the 'N' motif sits exactly where the University's guidelines require. We color-matched the silks to the tonal purples of the University's palette, and the result was a resounding success.

A Saxony wool scarf with the Presidential seal

Saxony wool scarves are a centuries-old tradition, first introduced to students at Oxford and Cambridge as a mark of academic excellence, scholarly pride and global community. This design celebrates Northwestern's colors and its embroidered Presidential seal. The wool is woven on the same looms that make the scarlet cloth for the Guards' uniforms at Buckingham Palace.

A cashmere scarf with the University seal

For this cashmere scarf we were given special permission to embroider the University's exclusive seal. Our cashmere mill in Scotland holds a Royal Warrant, the highest mark of British quality and service.

How we work

Every Harris Made commission follows the same 3 steps: a conversation with Emma, our designer and co-founder, about what makes your institution special; samples for your approval before production; and a final inspection by Emma before each gift is wrapped in a client-branded presentation box.
